How to play
Walking is playing
No complicated rules, no staring at your screen. Three steps, and your own street becomes the game map.
-
1Start the game
Open RunBite, tap GO and pocket your phone. AUTO is already on.
-
2Walk
Walk or run at your own pace. Your hero beats zombies and picks up loot along the way.
-
3Collect
Back home, open the game: gold, XP and crates are waiting — swap them for great looks.
- A real street map from OpenStreetMap: a GPS walking game in the real world, wherever you go.
- Running pays more: the game notices when you run.
- Health Connect (optional) counts your steps with the app closed too.
Real-world zombies: round, silly and gore-free
13 kinds of street zombie, from the moto-taxi driver to the delivery courier. Beaten ones “poof” into smoke and coins.
Every step pays off
Real rewards in the game
Like a walking app that gives you points — except your points become gold, crates and outfits for your hero. Nothing sells power, nothing costs real money.
-
Gold
From zombies beaten on the way, missions and every km you walk. Spend it in the shop.
-
Crates
They fill up as you walk, then open into gold, healing items and sometimes a new outfit.
-
Your hero
Levels up from your own steps; every 5 levels brings a rare crate.
-
Outfits
200+ items: ao dai, conical hats, pets, auras… earned with gold, bosses and events.
Try the dressing room
Locked items can't be bought — earn them from guild raids, the weekend boss, achievements or events. Weapon skins change looks only, never strength.

Bring your friends
Invite friends into the game, race each other on steps, and meet in the park at the weekend to beat a boss. Everyone walks at their own pace — the game adds it all up.

Invite
Send a link or your invite code: when your friend walks their first 3 km, you both get gold.

Step duels
Challenge friends to step duels and climb the weekly leaderboard. It starts over every Monday.

Beat bosses together
At the weekend, a party of 2 or more takes on a giant boss; your guild pools steps to beat the guild boss.
Illustration: Saturday night, the party meets in the park to beat the boss — everyone walks a lap, the shared HP bar drops.
Invite your friends
Send your friends the RunBite link. In the game, open Invite a friend for your invite code: when a new player enters it and walks 3 km within their first 14 days, they get 150 gold + the Buddy Band and you get 200 gold. Invite 3 friends for the Buddy Pup too.
Party and guild codes (6 characters) work as links too: one tap and your friend is in.

Common questions
FAQ
Is RunBite free?
Yes. RunBite is free and has no real-money purchases in the app. Gold, cosmetics and all progress are earned by moving and playing — nothing makes you stronger for money.
Which phones can play? Is there an iPhone version?
RunBite runs on Android 8.0 or later — get it free on Google Play. The iPhone (iOS) version comes later — leave your email for news.
Do I need to install an APK file?
No — install RunBite from Google Play, it keeps itself up to date. The APK is no longer distributed. Still playing an old APK? See how to move to Google Play and keep your progress.
Do I have to look at my phone while walking?
No. AUTO (on by default) attacks, dodges, heals and loots for you. Steps with the screen off count through Health Connect, and you collect rewards for the whole trip when you open the game.
Is it safe to play while walking outside?
RunBite is built so you don't have to look at the screen: AUTO (on by default) attacks, dodges, heals and loots while your phone is in your pocket. Move at vehicle speed (about 22 km/h) and the game pauses itself. Want to play by hand? Stop first — and never use your phone while crossing a road or driving.
Does it drain my battery?
GPS is only on while the game is open — leave the app and GPS stops, nothing runs in the background. Steps taken with the app closed come from Health Connect, which your phone records anyway. To save even more, turn on SAVER mode in Settings.
Can I play without Health Connect?
Yes. Without Health Connect, the game uses GPS to measure your walk while you play, so you still earn rewards. Only steps taken with the app closed need Health Connect to count.
How does the game use my location and health data? How do I delete it?
Your GPS coordinates are only used on your phone while you play and are never sent to RunBite (“Nearby players”, if you turn it on, uses only a rough area of about 1 km); health data is read as daily totals only. Details in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. To delete your data: Settings › Cloud save & data › Delete my data, or see how to delete by email.
Do I need to create an account?
No. RunBite has no accounts or passwords — the game uses a random anonymous ID. You only give an email if you sign up for news yourself, and you can unsubscribe any time.
Are the other players in the game real people?
Most are. To keep the world lively while we are new, RunBite may show some simulated players on leaderboards, the map, boss team-ups and in group chat. They may reply to private messages you send them but never start one, never claim to be a real person and never affect anyone's rewards.
Is RunBite a move-to-earn or crypto game?
No. RunBite is a free walking game — a light fitness RPG with chibi zombies — not a move-to-earn app. There are no crypto tokens, no NFTs and nothing to cash out: your steps earn in-game gold, crates and gear only, and nothing in the game is sold for real money.
Are the zombies scary?
No. RunBite's zombies are round little chibis, no gore. Beaten ones “poof” into smoke and coins.
Is there a map in small towns or outside Vietnam?
Yes. The map comes from OpenStreetMap, so it covers the whole world; supply caches sit at real parks and places near you.
When is the official launch?
RunBite is out now on Google Play, for Android 8.0 or later. The iPhone (iOS) version comes later — leave your email for news.
Where can I ask questions, give feedback or find people to walk with?
Join the RunBite: Move to Play Discord — our official community. In the game there is also MENU → Feedback.
Never look at your phone while crossing a road or driving.
